‘Butterfly Babies’…

Heather B

EQI has had a request from the Royal Children’s Hospital for library bags for their ‘Butterfly Babies’. I made one according to the measurements provided and it seemed far too big for a ‘Butterfly Baby’. However, it turns out they are for parents to keep the library books which they read to their children in.
RCH has a program that tries to immerse children in a hospital in language so they ask parents to read even to very small children. They realise that children at home have far greater exposure to language than children in hospital.
The bag is just two squares of 16 inches with straps up to 30 inches long by 1 inch (finished). They ask for inner seams to be overlocked or zigzagged and the bottom of the bag to have the ends folded in and sewn to square off the base. Here’s three I made earlier!!!
Any contribution you can make would be gratefully received.
