Greetings to all our members.
What a week it has been! Devastating Flooding  in NSW and Queensland, war in the Ukraine and the passing of two cricket legends. Closer to home Covid is still with us even though it is more difficult to find out the case numbers and even more difficult to find out where the outbreaks are. It makes it easy to understand why there are still many people wearing masks and being reluctant to join a large group of people.

Happily we were able to hold our day meeting in February as a Picnic in the Park.I was able to bring home 18 finished QFOs from our Saturday stitching session which was a very positive day. I have contacted the Salvation Army and am waiting for those quilts to be picked up .
Our next meeting is the March day meeting on the 16 th from 10 am. at the hall.
The night meeting for March is the 23 rd from 7 till 9.30 pm with packing up time from 9.15. This is the evening of our next QFO day. You would be most welcome to come to any or all of these gatherings.

Our AGM is scheduled for the April day meeting on April,20 th, just after Easter.
All positions are declared vacant at that meeting so we will have nomination forms for you to fill in at both the March meeting and the April meeting.
It is time for some different people to take a turn as an office bearer or a committee member. I took on the presidency after we had had no President for 3 months and it is now time for me to step aside. Can I suggest that you and a friend join the committee together.? You don’t have to commit for  a long term but your assistance helps keep the group going and fresh ideas are always welcome. We also need some Valued Volunteers to take on some aspects of the group’s activities, e.g. tea and coffee, QFO coordinator

I was troubled recently when I heard that a member felt she couldn’t attend one of our events because the payment was to be online and she didn’t have the facility to do that. Never feel that way. Just let us know you are coming, then come along and pay on the day with cash. I like to think that EQI is a welcoming group and no one should feel excluded for that reason.
Have you renewed your membership? It’s time to do so very soon if you haven’t. Thanks to all those who have.

Finally I am puzzled by something. For ages now I’ve had noisey mynah birds all around the house, on the guttering, scratching in the garden, shrieking at each other, even dive bombing next doors cat. Usually they are in pairs and I’ve counted up to 12 here at one time. Now, since last weekend there has been absolute silence. No mynahs. Not a one.
So my question is “ where have all the mynahs gone?”

Stay safe, stay well. Come to the next meeting if you can.
Heather.
