QFO and Night Meeting …

by EQI Member: Heather B.

Due to the lifting of some of the restrictions, we will be able to hold our QFO day and the night meeting on Wednesday, June 23rd. We are able to meet the density limits at the hall quite easily and there is a QR code there as well. If you are worried about using this code, call on one of our members to sign you in. Bring a mask.
We will follow the guidelines as closely as we can but if you don’t feel well or you don’t feel comfortable coming then please stay home. Everyone understands that we are all a bit more hesitant to do things or go places than we were 18 months ago.

We were all looking forward to the bus trip, wondering if it would go ahead but it was an email from Amitié that took the final decision for us when they advised that they had decided it “ wasn’t a good idea to have 20 people in a bus coming”. This was a day or so before the 25 km limit was lifted but their hesitation is understandable. Hopefully, we can arrange another trip later in the year.
As well, our day meeting at St John’s had to be cancelled. Before these decisions are made there is a lot of consultation going on. In that instance, the 10 people in a group indoors rule was still in force, so again the final decision was taken out of our hands.

Happily, we can go ahead on Wednesday and I do look forward to meeting our generous charity quilt sewers and, especially to lunch which is a great shared time too. Bring a plate, not an empty one! We have had a large donation of good fabric which I will bring. As well as that my hall still has many completed quilts waiting to be picked up. When they’ve gone it will be easier to see my front door!! In the grand scheme of things that’s a first-world problem.
Stay warm. Stay safe. Stay well. Stay stitching.
Heather.
