Hello fellow quilters, and welcome to our March newsletter.
Saturday 1st February marked our first meeting at our new venue, St. Aidan’s Church Hall. It was the start of an exciting new chapter and everyone was eager to explore the space. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, members appreciated the hall’s warm, welcoming feel and the ample street parking. Overall, it was a fantastic first gathering in our new home.
A huge thank you to Barb G. for all her hard work in organising the Essendon Quilters stand at the Moonee Valley Festival. A special thanks also to Barb’s husband, Pete, and their son, Tim, for their efforts in setting up and packing up. Your dedication is truly appreciated! Also thank you to all the helpers who made it possible. More details in the newsletter.
Thank you to Nadine, Barbara B., Barbara G., Irene G., and Sue K. for helping move some of the boxes last month to the new venue. It was an extremely hot day and we were all exhausted—I truly appreciate all your help! However, we are still in the process of moving the library books and other equipment to the new
premises, please bear with us, as there is a lot of sorting to do, as storage space is limited in the new venue.
Member’s Showcase - Denise Shearer will be presenting her quilts on Wednesday 19th March.
Kitchen Duties: All the kitchen supplies will be on the trolley. When setting up simply wheel the trolley to the kitchen and place all the items on the table near the kitchen bench. At the end of the meeting wipe down benches and please place everything back on the trolley and wheel back to the storeroom. We ask to only
use our supplies and not the halls.
Once again EQI will be hosting the Cancer Council Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea
