Who’s being spoilt?

Buddy, our spoodle needed a new blanket. I had the fabric, bought by he who loves a bargain at Aldi, saying, ‘you can make something with these!’ I also had a robust piece of curtain fabric for the backing. And, two children that wanted to join me in the sewing room.

Annie and Dylan laid out the top. I made a paper pattern, keeping the joins as simple as possible and I cut more 6 inch squares than required so they had a choice. They joined me at the sewing machine for some of the short seams. And of course, they helped with the label.

Buddy‘s blanket finished at about 42 inches square. There are some 6-inch squares leftover, and of course, Orla, their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, needs a quilt. Other than those squares and a couple of about 2-inch strips all the fabric is used.
