A love of English Paper Piecing led to a business!
Jo Lawrence from ‘Made Studio Textiles’ delighted us with her quilting journey that has led to her studio in Cheltenham.
Jo began her talk with her early years of patchwork in Wagga, interrupted by a fall from a horse, before moving to Melbourne.

Then along came the technique of English Paper Piecing …that has led to successful entries in Victorian Showcase, … and her own studio!
Thanks Jo for sharing your journey with EQI.
I made a recommendation for Jo to come to our guild after seeing her ideas about English paper piecing and the samples she’d produced based on her product, but I was unaware of the full picture!
We heard an interesting story about Jo’s patchworking history and I was amazed by the quilts presented.
Fabulous combinations of colours and so much variation in the way Jo has developed a traditional method!
Thank you for organising this presentation!
