It’s a ‘Magic Pudding’ …
Well, that’s what I’m calling my box of squares! Every time I think there’s an end to them, it magically seems to fill up again. Loved reading Norman Lindsay’s book as a child, wouldn’t it be lovely to have one of these bowls during lockdown!
Whilst ‘down the rabbit hole’ of the internet, I came across this scrap patchwork idea by Judy Gauthier of Bungalow Quilting & Yarn.
Judy is an author of five books, ‘Sensational Quilts for Scrap Lovers’, being her latest published in 2020. She demonstrates the ‘Treasure Box‘ block here, and that is what caught my attention on YouTube.
So delving back into the pile of 5″ blue squares (had to alter the cutting ever so slightly as Judy used 5.5″ squares - but hey, we’re adaptable right?), to find matching pairs. Not enough for an on-point quilt so added some sashing and a border for a small quilt.
Another therapeutic ‘leaders and enders’ stitching while listening to talking books - currently ‘The Poison Orchid’ by S. Denzil & A. Taylor. What do you listen to while stitching: TV; radio; music; talking books; birds in the backyard …?

Would love to look at the book. Do we have it in the library? Have some patchwork books to give away so will bring them to the next meeting (whenever) from Sue H. She has moved and had a clean out. One is a scrappy quilt book as well.
A great block and great quilts. I am never able to focus on audio books, switch off after a minute or two. A recent quilt mag I read on Libby, featured a book about “crumb quilts”. A great idea for all the small bits you don’t want to throw away.
