Skill Sharing for 2018, so far ….
Thank you to the following members for volunteering to share your skills with us at an EQI Day Meeting or Evening Sit and Sew.
This is one of the benefits of coming along to see first hand a ‘How To …’ technique. Not only that, you get to ask questions in person, and get answers immediately - something which YouTube can’t do!
Have you a skill to share? Is there a skill you’d like to see? Let committee@essendonquilters.org.au know, and we’ll see what can be done. No promises, but we’ll try our best.
How do you find out what’s coming up?
- Hear about it at the Day General Meeting
- Read about it in the archived General Meeting Minutes - click here for the ‘General Minutes’ page; or read them on the table at the Day Meeting
- President’s Patter often lets you know what’s happening, but it can’t cover everything …
- Click on ‘Events’ (on the Main Menu), and open a relevant date to see what’s happening
- Click here to get your copy from the ‘Workshops’ page
So far this year we have:
- February Day Meeting & Evening Sit & Sew: “Tension on your Sewing Machine’ Santina Gangemi
- March Day Meeting: ‘Seven Sisters’ with Lorraine Carr
- March Evening Sit & Sew: ‘Thumb Quilting’ Kerry Roe
- April Day Meeting: ‘Thumb Quilting’ Kerry Roe

So what can you contribute?
Hello Everyone!
If you are taking part in the April Day meeting Skill Share: Thumb Quilting then a thimble that fits over your thumb is advisable.
I will have some extras…so do not panic if your thumb is as big as mine!..,whopper of a thumb!
I will have a piece of backing, batting and homespun “quilt” top. Tacked together, with a pattern drawn on for members to practise on.
If you can organize it, your own would be great, with a hoop.
But not essential!
Size 10 quilting needles and thread will be available.
If you have never tried hand-quilting, or have wrist problems etc…then this is the technique for you!
Whoops!…also ditto the above for this week’s night meeting!
